Sleep Monitoring Watch Instructions

Three times during the 6 months of the study you will be asked to wear a FitBit sleep monitoring watch for 7 nights while you sleep. This will provide us with important information about how the intervention may affect your sleep. When the study team requests you wear the watch, please following the instructions below:

  1. The FitBit is a sleep-monitoring device that measures your activity levels, sleep duration, and sleep quality. Please keep it on your non-dominant wrist throughout the day and night for 7 days.

 

2. Please complete the sleep log every morning and evening during the 7 days. It is important to fill it out each day instead of at the end of the week.

 

 

3. We reviewed how to wear the FitBit and fill out the sleep log during your screening visit, but if you have any questions please contact Myriam Yepez at (917) 887-1277.

 

4. Please remove the FitBit when showering, swimming, in any situation where it may get wet, or if required to charge the device. Please make a note when you remove the FitBit in the sleep log.

 

5. At the end of the 7 days, please use the enclosed self-addressed, stamped envelope to mail back the FitBit and completed sleep log.
